I have a comment on one of my YouTube NanoBlog video:
i think you went a tad overboard with your livestock in that tank.

Yea, this is one of commonly accepted, but baseless knowledge, I like to challenge time to time. Well I have it for almost year and it looks like it works just fine, even every single expert I talk to always note that I have too many livestock in there. So it does not really seems to be a problem.

As well I was told I can not keep Mandarins in tank less then 100g, or they eats only live coperpods. Both turns to be not true. I have pair in 8g tank and they it frozen bloodworms just fine.

I think Saltwater Fish Tank Science does not yet exist and all we can learn in Internet right now is just collection of unprofessional opinions, which can not be trusted without confirmation. At least this is what I see now.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And this is true not only for saltwater fishtank, but as well for knives and many other area, where someone without any knowledge on matter just came up with nonsense, pretending to be an expert, then because it looks like expert opinion it get referenced all over internet and became like commonly accepted knowledge.

Simple example from Spyderco forum by Donut( joined forum 2009 and has ~6000 posts since then - 4 posts a day!):
People say the Wear Resistance is in line with CPM-S30V. CPM-S30V is supposed to be chippy, CPM-S30V is designed to offer higher wear resistance when toughness isn't needed. CTS-XHP has more toughness than CPM-S30V, so it should offer you a more well rounded user steel than S30V depending on what you use it for.
This is absolutely not true. When back in 2003 CPM S30V were pushed in knife market everybody were saying that it is not as good as CPM S60V in edge holding, but it is much tougher and it was designed this way. Like it is as good as A2 in toughness... Now some Xpert without any ideas what he is talking about pop up with this nonsense and I bet will be referred to by many like him, just because he generated posts about 4 per day for last 4 years!

It is really unfortunate that someone who just like to be seen as expert with posts looks pretty much like he knows what he is talking about (because this pretending is only he is good at) will mislead many others in wrong direction, and there is no way to do anything about that!

Before Internet you learn things in library from books and magazines where there was some author screening, to make sure they know what are they talking about. But now some kid with great ability to mimic can pretend that he is like professor in any given area! And got attention and have followers...
